At 5199m high, Mount Kenya is Africa's second highest mountain, with gleaming and eroded snow-capped peaks, which can be seen for miles. It is a broad, large symmetrical volcano cone whose diameter at the base is about 12 km, dating between 2 to 3 million years ago. There are three peaks; Mbatian, Nelion and point Lenana. The magnificent views over the surrounding country from point Lenana and other high points around the main peaks and trekking on this mountain is a priority among tourists. The forest surrounding the mountain support a large variety of wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, monkey, antelope, lion, zebra, eland, rock hyrax, giant forest hogs, leopard and various species of birds such as eagle, vulture, and sunbird among others.

Day 1:
Departure from Nairobi is at 0900 hrs(either from hotel or airport) to Nanyuki and stop at the Equator briefly. Continue to Nanyuki where you check in your hotel. Afternoon is spend preparing for the hike.A COMPLIMENTARY walking tour to the EQUATOR. Dinner and overnight at the Nanyuki simbas lodge.
6 Days Mount Kenya Sirimon Out Chogoria Route

Day 1: Nairobi - Nanyuki
Depart from Nairobi at 09:00hrs and proceed towards the cool slopes of Mt. Kenya. Cross the Equator and arrive at your hotel in Nanyuki in time for Lunch. Relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery around dinner and overnight in your hotel.
Day 2: Nanyuiki - Old Moses Camp.
After breakfast vehicle transfer to Sirimon park gate start your 5 hours hike to Old Moses camp for overnight (3300m), (5 to 6 hrs hike) where you pass through a tropical rain forest and bamboo forest. All meals and overnight at the campsite.
